I can speak German as well as English and Spanish and so I had an opportunity of speaking to Germans and meeting quite a number of people from Germany and can say that they are quite good people.

It took me quite a lot of time to read throught the whole topic and to make up my own opinion about what has already been told here.

First of all I can say I like Germans for their pragmatic views of life and their practical approach to many things. One can say that they are too pragmatic, but I dare say it's a good kind of pragmatism.

As for the pop culture and songs, I think it's not the lack of flexibility of the language (which is not at all true) but for some phonetic reasons that the songs in German do not sound so attractive as in English or Spanish.

I respect Germans for their hard working nature. And though I am from Russia, the ciuntry that suffred most during  the World War II and I lost many of my relatives during the war, I don't think we should blame the Germans for what had happened. we should blame fascism - and fascism has no nationality: it can exist in every country.

So, let's be friends. And I am glad that Germany and Russia have very friendly relations now.

Everything here is already proved that Germany has great ambitions,Regardless of in which age,Germany shows her ability and elegant to the world.

I think no matter the history and the future,Germany will never be defeated.

Isn't it?

I loved Germany when I was stationed near Neckarsulm, a small town not far from Heilbronn.  I was there for about 19 months with the US Army.  Unfortunately, I was far better acquainted with German beer - especially HefeWeizen -  than I was with the German language.  I studied it for a couple of quarters in college, and I am trying to learn more on my own now.  I am always looking for a website to help me, and am considering using Skype.

My father's side of my family immigrated from Germany long ago.

Hi,

I live in Italy in a little town where often Germans spend their summer holidays (Riccione, do you know?).

Here Germans are known for their particular way to combine foods! Pizza and fruits, salad and milk.. for Italians it's very crazy!

I remember my german teacher at the secondary school.. she was so precise and rigorous.. but very just. Now my German is a little bit rusty!

This is the idea I have about Germans.. but if I think at Oktoberfest all is different!

I'd like to travel to Berlin.. next journey..

tschuss!

Hi,
many complained about the german music scene what I can't understand, because I like it very much!

Does somebody outside from Germany know the music group 'Tokio Hotel'?
They are pretty cool!
The group is here in Germany and Europe very popular and recently they translated their songs in English, too.

When I saw 'Tokio Hotel' the first time on TV, I thought Bill (the singer) were a hot girl. But he is a boy!

Here are some songs of them translated in English:
