	Dew 2007  +  387812 Wed, 04 Jul 07 09:02 AM I can speak German as well as English and Spanish and so I had an opportunity of speaking to Germans and meeting quite a number of people from Germany and can say that they are quite good people. It took me quite a lot of time to read throught the whole topic and to make up my own opinion about what has already been told here. First of all I can say I like Germans for their pragmatic views of life and their practical approach to many things. One can say that they are too pragmatic, but I dare say it's a good kind of pragmatism. As for the pop culture and songs, I think it's not the lack of flexibility of the language (which is not at all true) but for some phonetic reasons that the songs in German do not sound so attractive as in English or Spanish. I respect Germans for their hard working nature. And though I am from Russia, the ciuntry that suffred most during  the World War II and I lost many of my relatives during the war, I don't think we should blame the Germans for what had happened. we should blame fascism - and fascism has no nationality: it can exist in every country. 	Ron In Ohio  +  390191 Tue, 10 Jul 07 07:56 AM   I loved Germany when I was stationed near Neckarsulm, a small town not far from Heilbronn.  I was there for about 19 months with the US Army.  Unfortunately, I was far better acquainted with German beer - especially HefeWeizen -  than I was with the German language.  I studied it for a couple of quarters in college, and I am trying to learn more on my own now.  I am always looking for a website to help me, and am considering using Skype.    My father's side of my family immigrated from Germany long ago.
