J.R.R Tolkein novels are so hard to read. I tried to read the lord of the ring series but I found it so hard understand. The sentence structures are completely different. Harry Potter novels are not hard to read. DA Vinci Code was'nt. Why is Lord of the Ring trilogy so hard for me to read. Can anyone give me any tips on how to understand it without any hassles. Did anyone else found these novels hard to understand or read?

Tolkien is quite a heavy read even for a native speaker. They are rewarding if you persevere though.

I agree with Nona! You might want to read The Hobbit, if you haven't done that yet. I think it is somewhat easier than the later books, and it can help you get used to the way Tolkien writes.
