As the title said, I sometimes get confused as to the usage of those two words, "sport" and "sports."

Can you help me to understand the difference?

ex.  In sport, form refers to the ability or success of a  person or animal over a period ot time.

Hi,

When referring to one particulr sport, eg soccer. say 'sport'. For two, eg soccer and cricket, say the plural 'sports'.

When making a more general reference to all such activities, I'd say 'sports' is the more common word, but 'sport' is not unusual either as a general reference.

Best wishes, Clive
