Hi,

Tom visits Ann and gives her divorce papers. Ann makes up an excuse and can’t sign the papers right now but she will try to get to them to him later.

What  does 'get to' mean in the context?

Thanks!

This type of "get to" means "do it," usually in a long list of things that need to be done.

I don't think I'll get to that project today, but I'll start on it tomorrow.
