It should be "What's the catch?" or "What is the catch?" meaning for example when you see a fantastic advert you think there must be something hidden that you don't know about i.e. the catch.

What a catch!

Well if you see it in a movie then it can mean "you dated with a wonderful girl' or if a girl married a guy who is rich and famous, other may say "What a catch!"

catch - good opportunity

What a catch! = You didn't miss that excellent chance, good for you!

However:

What's the catch? = What is the problem here?

What's the catch? = This sounds very good. So good that I do not believe it. What is it that you are not telling me about this wonderful thing?

For example:

Borrow $10,000 and make payments of only $50 a month!

What's the catch? The catch is that you will be making payment for 30 years!

Or: Come with me to the football match! I have a free ticket for you. We have great seats. I'll buy you dinner afterwards.

What's the catch? Well, my really obnoxious cousin in coming too and your ticket is next to his. I'll be sitting with my girlfriend somewhere else.

Barbara, who answers in American English. My housekeeping skills attest to the truth of the second law of thermodynamics: Left to themselves, things get more and more random!

Interesting!

Trying to make a sentence with catch:

Be aware that there must be a catch behind an apparently favourable offer, or else you’ll be caught.

I'd replace "caught" with hooked. Otherwise OK.
