What does UNDER OR OVER mean?

Plant buyers, especially novices, usually overwater, figuring that more is better, even if the soil is not dry. Overwatering is worse than underwatering. A dry plant can be revived with water, but overwatering can cause root rot, which causes a plant's edges to wilt and yellow. Nearly all low-maintenance plants can get by on one watering a week.
