Savvy my dear,

That'll teach you to be cautious in your choice of words. You shouldn't use any french word, non mais quoi alors ! Plus you shouldn't use any foul language either.
Anyway, thanks for the weblink, I'm going to take a virtual tour right away...

Dear Sophisticated Lady;

I'm a little bit puzzled about the Pondicherry map : it looks like Pondicherry consists in several scattered pieces of territory that would be quite distant from the main location for some of them, even stretching across several states (Tamil Nadu, Kerala...) ? Am I reading the maps correctly ? This looks kind of odd to me...

(...Et deux 'f' à 'raffinée' ma grande, sinon ça l'fait pas...)

Monsieur Waiti,

Pondicherry is a small Union Territory located in Tamil Nadu, which is one of the States in India.

Pondicherry, Yanam, Mahe, Karaikal and Delhi are all Union territories in India, however, only Yanam,Mahe and Karaikal are controlled by the Pondicherry Government.Hence Pondicherry is represented in brackets under the other Union territories.

As you may be aware, Delhi is the capital of India, yet it is a Union territory and it has its own Government. In India, each state has its own State governement while the central government is located in Delhi. Each state governement has its own rules, holidays etc...

It is definitely a bit complicated in India because here each state has its own customs, language, functions etc...

Coming back to you, what does Waiti mean? If I pronounce it right, it sounds exactly like a South Indian name, but written as 'Vaithy' in India. If you did your schooling in Maroc, where are you at now? I think you must be mixed French?

Savvy my dear,

Oh no... I do not care to strip myself to the skin in a public forum like that... What I'm saying : wasn't this thread meant to collect all the love and hatred (anything but indifference please) toward France and the French ???
You're leading us astray here... Don't you have nice or ugly things that you want to share about them froggies ???
You're only gonna say nice things anyway... I guess you've been staying too long too far away to not idealize France...

Savvysavz  +  137811 Thu, 15 Sep 05 07:40 PM

You can address me as ''savvy'' instead of ''my dear''.

You blame the French to be arrogant but you're pretty arrogant yourself.

Looks like not many people are interested in this thread.Indifferent [:|]

You're right, we didn't use to herd cows together Black Sheep [bah] Wink [;)] so I'll refrain from addressing you as 'my dear'...

And yes I'm disappointed too... Thought more people would have things to share... God knows we've made efforts to keep this thread as lively as possible... haven't we ?

Waïti, I don't know where u come from, but seems that u speak quite well french. Are u French? the thing is if u speak quite well French for me that means u 've learnt French or spent some times in France.

I think u're quite rude to French people. I've not read all messages, but being French doesn't mean being Parisian. Have u ever visited other part of France to say that French are rude and arrogant?

Dear Sharann,
Yes, I'm currently settled in France which is why I feel I know what I'm talking about... Surely there are some nice things to say about French but it just escapes me at the moment what is it I could mention... You'll have to let me think it over before I get back to you on that.
And yes, you are right in that France isn't just Paris, and that I should probably refrain from making generalizations like this one. It isn't fair from me to stereotype people in such broad strokes ; and I'm happy to adjust my preconceived, over-simplistic statements in light of your own experience. So tell me, what is it you've come to like about them Bretons, Alsaciens, Basques, Corses, Savoyards, Normands, Ch'tis, Vendéens, Tourangeaux, Auvergnats, Catalans and so forth ??? Ou bien ?
