Hello,

It's slightly uneasy for me to explain, but i give it a try

I have this question: when a soccer (hockey, whatever) team gains a new player, the headlines are: The team have new ..
In place of dots I'd like to have a term in the meaning of strenghtening the team. So can I say e.g. The team have new support/enforcement or not? And what are anoter usable words for it?

Thanks in advance.

“The team have new .. fortifying, strengthening, improvement, enhancement. All of them can be used in literally way. By the way I doubt if the newspaper could make such a  conclusion before player plays on behalf on his new team. I'm not a native and I am looking forward to hearing what they will say about it.”

Thanks Fandorin.

What I'm looking for is something like synonym for acquisition.
