Well i am using a Dell Inspiron 6400/E1505 and love it because of its good-looking. Well maybe it is thicker than the sony vaio but it doesn't matter to me.And i almost forgot it is a laptop too.And if i have to talk about what its configuration is has a core 2 duo processor,1,5gb ddr2 ram,256mb graphic card,120gb sata harddisk and so on. I gotta buy the better one because of the fact that i am developing programs so when i am compiling the programs,it needs to be fast as well.

What for too many? Hehehe. In school we have 14 computers placed in the informatic class. Their configuration is:
P4 2,4 GHz, 512Mb RAM, 80Gb hdd, Video 64Mb.
But if you let me remember 7-8 years ago we used those:
P1 166Mhz, 16Mb Ram, 2Gb HDD, I don't remember the video configuration

What for too many?

The first is mine, the second is my daughters. The notebook is to be mobile and always in touch.

And the fourth belongs to your wife)))
So five or six weeks ago one of my school teachers asked me to go to her home and have a look at her computers which worked incorrect. She has 3 desktops. So when I asked what for too many she said the same as you have said.
Heh it took two days of my life to reinstall operation systems on all of 'em and required software.
