I'm a firm believer that we had the right template in the first place, that the torch simply should go from Olympia, Greece, to the host country."

"I would expect that the Olympic committee will review that template," Gosper(a member of Olympic committee ) added.

this sentence is quoted from a report whose theme is that the torch relay will be the last one because of the demonstration.

"in the first place" means where? could anybody tranlate this sentence for me? really thanks

The earlier plan = the "template" used in the first place

I wouldn't use template like this, but the pattern they used to follow - Greece to the host country - instead of routing it through the world is better, he thinks.

Hi,

I'm a firm believer that we had the right template in the first place, that the torch simply should go from Olympia, Greece, to the host country."

"I would expect that the Olympic committee will review that template," Gosper(a member of Olympic committee ) added.

this sentence is quoted from a report whose theme is that the torch relay will be the last one because of the demonstration.

"in the first place" means where? could anybody tranlate this sentence for me? really thanks

I'm a firm believer I believe strongly

that we had the right template that we had the correct standard method

in the first place, in the beginning, ie originally

that the torch simply should go from Olympia, Greece, to the host country."

Best wishes, Clive
