Actually the chinese people don't talk a lot about Russia these days, and the relationship between China and Russia seems not so close now than before, there's much less news about Russia in channels.

Less news - maybe. But less communications - hardly. Wink [;)]

Thanks, Llunanen! Same to you! Though actually it's not Russian women's day but an international one. Wink [;)]

Thanks.
Just to make it clear: I stated that it is a Russian public holiday. Many countries acknowledge this day, however, not all of them have a day-off on 8th of March. What really makes me laugh is the amount of men queueing for presents and flowers. Big Smile [:D]

Hi every1. Sorry for my English...

Some facts about new russian generation (it's not my personal opinion, but opinion of  majority):

New generation prefer beer, not vodka. We use 10-500 english words in day, and don't know Russian grammatics. We don't know, why should we respect our veterans of WWII. Best movies are from holleywood. Jeans - is our national cloth Smile [:)]

BMW and Mersedes-Benz are cool, but Bentley is the best.

We have many champions in many kinds of sport, but we dont even know their names!

We dont read Chekhov, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy etc. We dont know these people: Shostakovich, Musorgski, Glinka.

Economics, politics - may be it all goinbg up. but we loosing our culture. I know, culture influences is natural proccess, but I upset about it.

Hi, Anon!

I'd replace the pronoun 'we' with 'some young Russian people':

Some young Russian people prefer beer to vodka (which doesn't mean at all that the rest part of Russian youth prefers vodka - some don't ever drink),  some young Russian people use 10-500 English words per day and they don't know Russian grammatics. Some young Russian people don't know why they should respect our veterans of WWII... etc.

I'd abstain from claiming that those 'some young Russian people' are the majority, but the fact that such a kind of Russian youth does exist is true.

I really do not know a lot about Russia, but I do have a lot of Russian friends. They are by far the most nicest people I know.  They really seem to care about their friends.  One of my teacher's is also Russian (school in Canada). Although the accent creates difficulties in understanding her, she is very kind and reaches out instinctively to the class.  She makes the class really enjoyable and I have certainly learned a lot from her...not only course wise, but life lessons as well.

I don't know a lot about Russia and Russian people. But their custom and culture should be interesting. Moreover, their style of life intrigue me. In my imagination I think Russian people should be nice and polite.
