Hi, Robin

I think this is fine IF the people using these abbreviations know that they are using a non-standard and very informal type of English that is appropriate for some situations but NOT for others. It might not be the best way for someone to start learning English. Smile [:)]

Hi,

What to reply?

               anju: Hi, how r u?

               Maju: Fine thank u.

               anju: ???????

Now, anju can say "Great!" or "That's good".

It's also quite acceptable for Anju not to reply at all, or to just continue with the conversation, eg by saying 'Did your rich uncle call you last night as he promised?'Smile [:)]

Best wishes, Clive
