This is the reason why I think there is so much wrong and corruption in both houses of our government of which the members’ hands are well greased by the lobbying money and therefore allowed the oil cartel to rub the American public with our eyes open! Let it be known, the palm greasing is not limited to the oil industryt. Many big businesses have spent hundreds of millions to set up their lobbying network in our governments to push their agendas to their favors. I had made predictions a few months ago when oil prices broke the $100 a barrel barrier that the oil companies’ revenues will break record. Yesterday Shell and *** both reported record earning. *** has a quarterly earning of 11.8 billion, the high quarterly earning ever recorded which is 3 million over the same period past year. This didn't surprise me at all. Last year this time, I was paying around 2.5 a gallon for regular unleaded, and 3 weeks ago, I paid 4.59 for the same gas. In a year's time, the price went up approximately 90%. Their lies about tight supplies and Asian developing countries driving the prices are no more than their tactics to squeeze our wallets which they succeeded with the helps from the politicians we had elected. What irony it is! Big oil companies will continue to rub the consumers because they know nothing can stop them. Who is manipulating the price and who is making sure that we are charged farily? How could a barrel of oil in year 2000 going less than $25 to nearly $150 in less than 8 years! Does it occur to you that George Bush is our president during these years?

I wonder how many of his buddies and business partners have benefited from this windfall? I supported him for the second term. What a mistake that was and now I have to live with this regret for years to come!
