what is the difference between these two sentences:
1)"It was developed by Max Knoll and Ernst Ruska in Germany in 1931." and
2)"Max Knoll and Ernst Ruska in Germany developed it in 1931."
and which one is correct?

The ' in Germany ' for the first sentence is an adverb phrase modifying ' developed '.

The ' ...... in Germany ' is a noun phrase.

Even though the first is most commonly used. The second doesn't seem wrong either. So both are OK I guess

1) is passive voice.

2) is active voice. (Also, "in Germany" could be placed better)

If "it" is the most important thing, use 1.

If Knoll and Ruska are more important than "it", use 2.
