I understand 'when' deosn't work in:

In the movie when the boy kisses the girl

But I don't really understand why it doesn't in:

It's the time when I should take my medicine

Could you explain why not? Or did you mean that 'when' was simply redundant in the sentence?

I would say 'movie' and any other noun-in-time was 'when-able':

'The movie when first released was very popular.'

But not 'timelessness'. It has no 'when'.

We should also presumably exclude 'when = if'.

Or have I misunderstood the question?

It works, but, according to some, not well, with time measures themselves

This evidently applies specifically to me, Taka, as I can find no stricture against it in my references. Perhaps just my personal idea of redundancy or poor style. Feel free to ignore it.

(By the way, the great 'eternity' example was Mr. Pedantic's, not mine.)

'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master-- that's all.'

Thank you, people!

the great 'eternity' example was Mr. Pedantic's, not mine.

Obviously, a typo. Sorry, MrP!

Not at all, Taka – I'm happy to be mistaken for Mister M!
