Which is better & why?

Please comment on the following sentences by determining which is better and why

1-A-"I paced forward and greeted him, then, in return, he interlocked our arms and suggested we walk together along the watercourse. "

    B-"Pacing forward and greeting him, he interlocked our arms and suggested we walk together along the watercourse"

2-A-"After we walked a short distance, he said :".."

    B-"After a short distance walk, he said : "......"

    C-"After walking for a short distance , he said: ".."

3-A-"I marvel that a man gives distress half a chance to eat away at his heart and the hunger for vengeance to deprive him from a wink of sleep although he can cast both aside by praying."
