Is it correct to say, "I ate as much as him" or can we only say, "I ate as much as he did." Which is preferred if both are acceptable?

Some more examples of whether to use subject forms or object forms of pronouns...

He can't run as fast as me.
He can't run as fast as I can.

They say you look exactly like me when I was young.
They say you look exactly as I did when I was young

Thanks for your anticipated replies.

All are fine Rip, though with the object forms sometimes frowned upon in formal writing.  The object form in the prepositional phrase like me is universally acceptable, I think.

'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master-- that's all.'
