Hi,

please tell me which one of these sentences is correct?

scenario:

where did you go?

I went downstairs to take something. I think that you mean 'I went downstairs to get something'.

'Take' means the thing goes with you from upstairs downstairs. 'Get' means you go down and then you and the thing come back up.

1-Don't u want me to ask what did you take from downstairs?

2-Don't you want me to ask what you take from downstairs?

3-Don't you want me to ask what you took from downstairs?

1-Don't you want me to ask what you got from downstairs?

2-Don't you want me to ask what you got from downstairs?

3-Don't you want me to ask what you got from downstairs?

Best wishes, Clive

It's hard to know which of these you mean.

A:  Where did you go?
B:  I went downstairs to get something.  [pause] [Don't you want to / Aren't you going to] ask me what I went downstairs to get?

Or:

A:  Where did you go?
B:  I went downstairs to get something.
[pause]
A:  Do you want me to ask you what you went downstairs to get?
