I know that this question has been answered several times but I really have difficulty
with this sentence.

"Who do you remind me of?"

It seems that it is correct with 'who' but if I got a test I would pick 'whom'.

Maybe because I can not determine DO and IO.

If we take the verb 'remind' , who is receiver of an action?

I simply don't get it.

The type of object and the verb 'remind' are irrelevant. 'Whom' is an object; 'who' is a subject. Try rearranging the sentence:

'You remind me of whom?'-- 'Whom' is the object of the preposition.

'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master-- that's all.'
