Hi~

I just now happened to find an entry for one of my favorite cartoons Lady and the Tramp as a child.

Lady and the Tramp
(1955) a cartoon made by Walt Disney, about two dogs who meet and have a romantic relationship. Lady is a pedigree dog (=a special type of dog), and she is very well cared for, but the Tramp is a mongrel (=a mixture of different types of dogs) who lives on the street.

Quoted from Lady and the Tramp - Definition from Longman English Dictionary online

"Who" for animals?
How so?

Best Regards

Hi,

These dogs are like people. They have personalities.

Well, they talked to each other and ate spaghetti with napkins, too, so "who" fits perfectly.

Thank you two~
That is also what I thought, but I am not sure.

So, it is safe to use "who" for animals if they are personified...right?
Like those personified animals in Aesop's fables?

Yes, and you can personify my best friend's cat, too.
