1.Twenty-six percent of the patients without seizures, 23% of those with low-severity and 16% of those with high-severity had the maximum score in Physical Function. Therefore, the lower seizure-severity, the higher ceiling effect is.
2.They concealed the secret from their classmates and teachers by exhibiting good school behavior, but it is relatively difficult for adolescents with frequent seizures.
3. Meanwhile, such negative attitudes may also affect the epileptic patients’ attitudes toward epilepsy, in particular, the patients with active epilepsy.

1.  (Your second sentence here doesn't parse, IMO.  I think it should be, "Therefore, the lower the seizure severity [is], the higher the ceiling effect [is]. )

Assuming that a higher ceiling effect means that those with the least severe seizures are able to perform better on the Physical Function Test   -   a really ass-backward way of putting it:

This study showed that epilepsy patients who experienced the most severe seizures were the least likely to perform well on the Physical Function Test.  Three groups were compared:  A - those with no seizures;  B - those with mild seizures;  and C - those with severe seizures.  in group A, 26% achieved the max. score; in group B, 23% achieved the max. score; and in group C, 16% achieved the max. score.

2.  The students with epilepsy were able to keep their affilction secret from their classmates and teachers.  They were able to do this by behaving very well in the classroom.  But students who have frequent seizures would usually find this quite difficult to pull off.  (It's not clear to me whether or not the implication is that the students in the first part of number two did not have frequent seizures.)

3.  Meanwhile, the negative attitutudes of those surrounding the epileptic patients may effect how the patients feel about their disease, especially if their epilepsy is active.

Thank you for your help!

I have a question.

What does "affilction secret " mean?  Affilction or Affliction?

“  Affilction or Affliction?
  Sorry about that!

Edit.  I guess this could be confusing, since "secret" can be a noun or an adjective.  In this case it's an adjective.

That is, it's not like, "Please keep my secret."  (Reply) "What secret?"  (Answer) "My affliction secret."  "secret" is a noun.

It's more like, "Please keep it quiet. / Please keep it secret." (Reply)  "Keep what secret?"  (Answer)  "My affliction."

Please keep my car clean.     "clean" is an adjective.   Please keep my affliction secret.   "secret" is an adjective.

(When you ask the question, What does "affliction secret" mean? it makes "secret" sound like a noun.)

Thank you.

Affliction is a noun.
Their afflictions or their affliction?
Is affliction a countable noun?

  Yes, it's countable.

We're talking about a group of people who all have the same affliction.  IMHO you may use either singular or plural in this case.

The affliction from which these people suffer is epilepsy.  These people deal with their affliction(s) on a daily basis.

This person has two afflictions, autism and epilepsy.
