Yo!, let me break it down for ya...
First of all....many may not agree with what i have to say because many who listen to hiphop dont understand hiphop....they listen more to the beats than to the lyrics...so therefore they really dont understand hiphop....
Look, in hiphop...there actually is something called better MC.....you may not like him...but you have to give it up to him and admit he is the better...
The important things to have in mind is....Flow, breathcontrol, lyrics, creativety, punchlines, and how complex ya style is....
Any rapper knows this....
Therefore....the greatest rapper of all time is ....Jay-Z.....and ill tell you why....
He got the most complex style of all....its so complex that those that dont understand rapp feels that he's whack...but he's not...hes just complex....he doesn't do the A-B-A-B pattern you're used to....like Vinnie Paz for example....with Jay-Z..u never know how the rythm goes....but in a weird way it makes sence....thats COMPLEX STYLE......his flow is beyond this world....and to prove it.....try for ya self.....its really hard to write 8 Jay-Z bars......but its easy to write 8 NAS bars.....well not easy but easier.....NAS has a more square type of flow...you know where the rhyme's gonna punch in....i use NAS as an example...this goes for the other rappers AS WELL......
And dont say he's commercial and therefore whack...look...as he know what he's doing....those cute songs u see on tv is just to earn money...and a dude thats poor has to do that stuff to help his near1s....like he said himself...."I CANT HELP THE POOR IF IM ONE OF THEM/ SO I GOT RICH AND GAVE BACK TO ME THATS THE WIN-WIN/.....thats why he does the cute chicksongs....and have in mind he does it thugstyle even then....just look at rappers like Nelly...he does cute songs to..but does it in a bad way...making him a popartist instead...He's SINGING!
So dont judge the brother for what u see on tv....that just pays the bills...if u wanna know if he's crap...check he's albums....like he said it on renegade with eminem...."YOU SAY THAT IM FOOLISH I ONLY TALK ABOUT JEWELS/ DO YOU FOOLS/ LISTEN TO MUSIC OR DO JUST SKIMM THROUGHT IT/.....
and for lyrics..please...u obviously dont listen to hiphop in a deeper way....he puts out his message but in a simple way....he dont preach......"ALL US BLACKS GOT IS SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT/UNTIL WE EVEN/THIEVING AS LONG AS IM BREATHING CANT KNOW THE WAY A NIGGA EATING YOU EVEN/.....DUDE IS MAD LYRICAL.....he aint political like tupac..but he never claimed to be...on the other hand...nas was a changing faces all the time...one day talking about deep things...next day he be like...cash money money ......u know......jayz never claimed to be something hes not....and please...check reasonable doubt....greatest album ever...no commercial stuff...straight hiphop...and for creativity.......
have u heard the Hola Hovito song?.....if u check....he's playing with the flow....in the first verse...he's flowing according to the kick.....in the second verse he's flowing according to the
snare....and in the last verse he's flowing according to the melody or wtf that is........
check it out....THATS CREATIVITY!!!....but the average dude wouldnt get that...thats for the real dudes...that really know what flow and rapping is all about....check the greatest in the game...they all say jayz is amazing....he's untouchable...
Punchline...dude is ILLLLLLLL.....ILLLLLLLLLLLL......ILLLLLLL....he drops them punchlines like it's nutting....others always overdrive when it comes to the punchlines...as if they amazed that they came up with stuff like that....for JAYZ...that aint nothing...
So....there you have it....and remember...many will disagree...but thats denial....he is the most talented rapper ...dude is a musical genius...without being fake..without saying something and doing another....
When it comes to flow...he is the greatest...followed by Biggie and Big L and Big Pun....
When it comes to Breathcontrol...dude is tight...honestly..i dont know how got better breathcontrol than jigga
When it comes to lyrics...i dont know who is first...in one way...i say Tupac...cause dude was ill...but in another way....jigga is amazing for putting out the message without sounding like a politician...he just blends it in with the rest of the lines without coming off point....but i guess TUPAC takes the cake on that one after all....there are alot of other rappers im forgetting in this category..but tupac is the champ....
when it comes to creativety....hmm..i say jigga...possibly Big Pun....or Dre.Dre!!!...cause...Dr.DRe cant rap..but dudes has been in the game a long time..and came up with gangsterrap along with N.W.A....funk...if that isnt creative i dont know what is......jigga is creative with his flow ...he experiments alot.....he can rap in 20 different flows...just listen to "the watcher" ....but Dre takes this one.....
Punchlines....with out a doubt...BIG L...dude is hilarious...on second place...CHINO XL.....but jigga is pretty good ..he is def top 5.......but BIG L was lightyears ahead of anyone....
and freestyling is very importent in hiphop...look....being a rapper and being a MC isnt the same thing....MC is a much more difficult....Tupac is the greatest RAPPER of all time....but he is not even in the top 10 when it comes to the greatest MC...
Rappers rapp songs they written...MC's are geniuses at wordplay....example Eminem...Eminem does 70% shitty music...thats my musical opinion...but he is 100% genius when it comes to wordplay....
Jay-Z is a great MC....dude can freestyle really good...and that makes hin with other things calculated a GREAT MC.....NAS for example...cant freestyle well...thats the truth...he is somewhat of a poet..he is great at writing..but not a MC..he isnt a wordplaygenius.....
Nas has great similarities with tupac....
Look....u may not like jayz's music ..but that dont make him a bad rapper/mc.....he could make great political songs..he just doesnt choose to...that dont make him bad...thats like...
just not choosing to.....im great at playing ball...but i choose to rap....that dont mean that im bad baller..i just chose to rap instead of playing ball......anyday i feel like i wanna shoot some hoops...i OWN THE COURT.......same with jigga...he choses to rap about the streets...he could do NASlyrics anyday..he just choses not to......so dont judge him on his musical category....judge him on his skills......
i honestly believe if BIG L would be alive today he would beat all of the rappers that ever grabbed the mic....cuz BIG L was a genius in all ways....only thing Jay would beat him in would be flow...which is the most important...but overall...BIGL would OWN EVERYONE.....just listen to 7 minute freestyle with BIGL and JAYZ....jayz is doing great..but compared with bigl he sounds like an amature rapper..check it out....BIG L was CRAZY.......
So....Greatest:?.....Jay-Z.....the flow is unmatched....and for ýall that dont like his flow...u probably dont get hiphop...its all about the flow....

the amount of albums that an artist sells means nothing and by no means makes them the best rapper of all time. Today sees rappers over exposed on radio and MTV and the media hype around todays increasingly mainstream rappers (nelly,chingy ETC) leave records selling in their millions to pop fans. Teenage girls, mums and dads that know very little about the message rap originally gave, keep wack pop rappers who give no message and rap way to much about cars and money in the money obsessed rap industry of today. In my opinion ludicris or nelly can never be mentioned in the same breath as the best and dont deserve a mention. The best has to be real, give a message and stick to hip hop roots and spit their words without worring about how many records the sell. This has to be tupac. A rapper with an ill flow that can tell a story in a song that both called for change and raised awerness of the ghettos and thug life. Tupac was intelligent and called for people to change, tupac wanted to make a change in the world and stayed true to his roots in the hood and inherited his protester mentality from his black panther leader mother, afinie shakur.

All of you guys are fools. I want every single one of you on this forum to go on to Kazaa or Limewire or any other music downloading program and get the 7 minute freestyle with Jay-Z and Big L. Jay-Z starts to run out of things to rhyme about, but when you hear Big L on this track, rappin 100x better than eminem or any other fool OFF THE TOP OF HIS HEAD. Hear this track and be amazed. Big L is the best of all time. No questions. Peace

Yo you guys are all about Tupac, B.I.G., and Rakim.
By far the greatest rapper is Krayzie Bone of the Bone Thugs n harmony.
He is really fast at rapping and he could actually sing. His lyrics are incredible which show the real projects for what they are. This guy is the smoothest rapper out there and he cannot be matched. Listen to his music its too good to be true, HE DA MOTHER******* GREATEST OF ALL_TIME!!This guy has the greastest voice and he is coming out with his new cd on Feb 08, 2005 so get ready cuz he'll getchu twisted!
My list of greatest rappers goes like this:
1.Krayzie bone
2.Tupac and Eminem
3.bizzy bone
4.Ice Cube
5.Dr.Dre
6. Snoop dogg
7. Jay-z(he is too cocky about himself though"greatest rappa alive")

and I know they haven't heard him, because once they do, he will climb their personal favorites list to the top. Jay Z?? Snoop?? Em?? Technique is on a level that these rappers, let alone anybody, have never been on and never will be.
Given, Tupac and B.I.G. are incredible, and I'd still choose Biggie over Pac. Gangstarr is near the top of my list too, but that is two guys not a single MC.
Summary: No, I'm not a Tupac hater, but Biggie is better. None of them come close to Immortal Technique though, NOBODY DOES.
