look krs waz great and all and i kno he put out 8 albums, but 2pac put out 12 albums 4 more
in just 5 years not 2 decades. NO OTHER rapper put out as much voice and heart into his lyrics. What i want u to do is listen to bigies lyrics then pacs notice how much they r alike as he once pointed out biggie from juicy:birthdayz was cursed days this iz just an exzample becuz on a unreleased song a few years earlier 2pac made a song with some of these exzact words.

one more thing yall are missing and i hafent heard ne one say this group. the origonal rap. RUN DMC. they had the greatest dj eva and some of the greatest mcs.

Its nice to read thru all these accolodes that people shower on their percived greatest rappers! But i think, like most of people have observed, its not just the flow, its not about instruments but more of the content and how the music directly impacted on society. If you objectively look at it from this angle and evaluate all the rappers in their entirety, whether you liked them or not, whether you were from west coast or east coast, then you would know that PAC is a legendary in the rap circles. Other music is nice to listen to but if you follow music as a lesson then no doubt pac is the one. Dre is a good artist with a magic touch no doubt, especially at recognizing talent and just putting things tide but i'm sure even him, in his heartz of heartz, he knows pac was unique despite him being bitter and canterkerous! Thats why even at the time of his death, PAC was considered to be beyond coasts. PAC was smart as well. There was some poet at play when he did his songs.
well, this is just my humble and independent opinion!

for me the greatest rapper of all time is between eminem & jay-z, jay-z has got some of the best beats out there n the way his lyrics come together with so much eaze, butt hen eminem has just got raw lyrical content in his style, he's a battler, so he can use words like no 1 else ever could in the rap business, also he's white, which is a hard achievement to have a black person playin em in ur car, but he's done it and finally hip hop & rap isnt as big as it was, alot of rappers are using cheaper videos and in 2002 eminem man handled the rap business with having his debut film and album, 8 mile enter at number one in the album and film charts, he picked up a oscar for best music in a film, tell me another rapper that has done that? and finally this beef with ja, is just so funny it makes me cry, if ja thinks he can beat eminem in a battle, he's well mistaken, he cunt beat me in a freestyle, he's whack, dasap (death as soon as possible)!!!!!!

Easily Ras Kass. Nobody can touch him lyrically.

I think that there isnt only one greatest rapper, if you look at it there was two. Tupac and Biggie. They were deffinatly the most influential rappers ever to hit the scene. I wouldn't put one above the other they were both amazing. Tupac put out more albums then biggy but biggy had dope lyrics. NO other rappers inlfluenced rap like these two icons. I think that rap would be totally different if they didnt exist. RIP BIGGIE & RIP 2PAC you will always be remembered and you music will always be with us and never die. PEACE OUT HOMMIES I hope i see you in heaven so we can freestyle and shit
