Ugh... i hate 2Pac stans so much... he wasn't close to being the most lyrically talented MC, but he was an incredibly deep man. Even being such, he was not close to being the greatest MC.
I agree that you can't really single out a G.O.A.T, you have to do it in time periods. Personally, I'd say the top of the 80's are Rakim, KRS-One, Big Daddy Kane, Melle Mel, Kool G. Rap, and Slick Rick. Of the 90's i'd go with Big L, GZA, Nas, Ice Cube, and mayyybe Biggie. Of the years beyond 2000, who cares? Mainstream hip hop sucks so much as "artists" are being so grossly overexposed, i'd probably go with MF Doom, he's incredible.
