Why am I anonymous?

If I'm a member and I sign in and the yellow envelope is flashing at the top and saying, "Welcome back so-and-so," why would my post come up as "anonymous"?  Do I have to re-up for every post?  Thanks for your help!

Also, why, when attempting to post in the "help" section, do I sometimes get the "[must be checked by staff]" notice, and sometimes not?  (applies to new threads as well as replies)    -    A

Hi Avangi

Some other forum members are having problems at the moment, too.  Look at this thread: http://www.englishforums.com/English/SignInProblem/zzwph/Post.htm

The flashing yellow envelope at the top right of the screen (next to "Welcome back") means that you have a new Private Message. That envelope is not there unless someone has sent you a PM.  To read your PMs, just click on the flashing yellow envelope.

When you get the "[must be checked by staff]" notice, that probably means you were not logged in when you posted a message.  All anonymous posts are checked by moderators before they appear in the forum.
