As a christian I have learned that God does NOT cause destruction. BUT SIN in this would does, God has the power so stop destruction but does not do so.  God created us and we are his children He LOVES us and would never hurt us.  IN fact it huts Him to see us hurt. Its like he is our father.

Is God in control or not?

I think God is the best one to answer that. He is pretty busy, but if you really want an answer, you will get one. Try it.
Oh, by the way, I'm told he doesn't take well to prank callers.

Is that a comment on the vastness of your nose or the miniaturization of city blocks in Japan?  Wink [;)]
If it's your nose, I imagine it can be quite destructive, too, during cold and flu season.

You guessed right. It's not uncommon for me to have to retrieve slightly built students from between the slats of the air vents after one of my 'typhoo' sneezes.

I would like to comment on "...why should it be Adam and Eve who determine what kind of world I...should live in?"  To say there is no God because of this is illogical.  That would be like saying "why should my parents determine what kind of world I live in?"  A baby doesn't have a choice if it's mother keeps it, gives it up for adoption, or aborts it.  A baby doesn't have a choice if it is born diseased, disfigured, or anything else...due to the simple fact that its mother is an alcoholic, a drug addict, or a promiscuous woman infected with AIDS, herpes or any other STD.  In a sense, none of us have a choice of the world in which we live; it is simply our inheritance.  Our choice lies in whether or not we choose to live in that world and make it worse, better, or become indifferent.
