Why is it so difficult for adults to learn grammar structures than for kids?

Hi,

That's a complex question.  One theory is that children's brains are 'hard-wired' to learn a language. They certainly seem to 'absorb it' without trying, in a way that adults can't. For example, children are not really taught structures formally.

Best wishes, Clive
