Why is that?

Hi,

I was reading a part of John 1:33 & 34  and it read like this:

..., 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down  and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God.

Why does it have to be 'is he who' and not 'is him who'? How about this? Is 'the Son of God' being used objectivally?

Situation 1: (points at a person)

Q:  Is he the person you saw last night digging the ground of your lawn?

A: Yes, it's him.

Or another possible version:

A: Yes, it's he who did the digging of my lawn last night.

Can these examples imitate the pattern used in the verses?
