Hello. Will you check my dialogue?

 

M: Everyone seemed so tense at [in?] the class this morning.

F: Apparently, they're really taking the coming exam seriously.

M: Aren't you worried about it? All you have to do is to prepare
   for it.

... so tense in class... -- I prefer "in" and you don't need "the."

The M's second comment seems odd. Presumably all anyone has to do is prepare, but some do that more effectively than others.

Are you worried about it? You've really been keeping up on the assignments and homework. I'm sure you won't have any trouble.

An assignment is more general. You can have a reading assignment. Homework is usually turned in to the teacher/professor.
