I will jump onto a desk and with a cry start up.

What sentence part is " start up" in that sentence above?

Thanks.

Hi,

I will jump onto a desk and with a cry start up.

What sentence part is " start up" in that sentence above? It seems to be a (phrasal) verb.

However, you need to correct your sentence. What do you mean by 'with a cry start up'? I don't understand.

The normal wording would most likely be 'start up with a cry'.

Best wishes, Clive

Oh, thanks!

So it's I start up. I oringinally think it's that a cry start up. Then, can I say " I will jump onto a desk with a cry starting up" or " I will jump onto a desk with a cry starts up"?

It's not clear at all what you mean by 'start up' or 'starting up'. Start up what? Do you mean you jump on the desk and start crying? Or do you mean 'yell/shout' by 'with a cry'. ???

Or by 'start up' do you mean make an abrupt movement up - which is confusing as you are also saying 'jump' - use one or the other but not both.

Hi, nona! I mean I have seen the sentence at top. I know the " start up" in it  means making an abrupt movement up. I want to know if I'm going to express I will start a yell/shout, as I jump on dest by "with a cry", I think now I should say " I will jump onto desk with a cry started up", shouldn't I?

IMO:
I started up and I jumped on the desk with a cry.
But am not sure of your sequence of events.
