Jump to 1938. To raise much-needed funds at teh end of the Great Depression, the Chicago Salvation Army named the first Friday in June "Donut Day." On that day, free doughnuts were handed out on the streets of Chicago. With each doughnut came the chance to donate money to those who are less fortunate.

Let's go back in time to 1938 ... the chance to donate ... fortunate came with each doughnut.

Hi,

Does the second correctly interpret the first in the above?

By the way, what does "With" in "With each ..." refer to? Thanks.

It's a little sarcastic, since the chance to donate was available to anyone at any time.  Presumably, the people handing out the free doughnuts would make a pitch to the recipient, making him feel obligated to donate.
