I acutally understand what it is trying to say but how else would you say that? How would you...interpret it?   2) is the underlined 'the trade of such territory with other territories' acceptable english? I would have written 'the trade with other territories of such a territory' What do you think? 	CalifJim  +  731466 Fri, 15 May 09 05:32 PM 1)  It could have been "for which" instead of "with respect to which".  It could even be "any territory which separate tariffs are maintained for", but that would put two "for"s together: ... are maintained for for a substantial part ... 2)  As with another question you asked, the pattern "such" + noun is part of legal style.
