Hi everyone,

I hope to figure out somewhat clear meaning of the phrase unlined below.
If you have any idea about it, would you tell me some here?

Thanks~

Temperate deciduous forests are forests in cool and rainy areas. They have four distinct seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. It is within these seasons that the deciduous trees show their unique property of losing their leaves as the weather cools and regrowing them as it warms. Also, the soil in these forests is quite fertile since it is often enriched with the falling leaves, twigs, and logs.

As each season passes, you will notice something different about these types of trees. In the spring they grow their leaves, in the summer, they are in full folliage, in the fall, the leaves change color and then fall off, and then in the winter, the brances are naked.
