Hi Chris,
I'm originally from New Zealand but have been living in Chile for the last six years. I have been teaching English for the same amount of time (six years) and my wife and I have our own language institute here in Santiago. It has been up and running for the last year and a half and has been a very rewarding experience. Languages have always been my passion though I never seriously learnt anything useful until after I left school. Contrary to what Maj says I can speak Spanish (or my version of it at least) and a little bit of some other languages (Arabic for one year at University here in Chile as a hobby).
How about you? Aren't you in Malta? How did you end up there?

Crazy Maj......CrAzY?.....I heard my psychiatrist say the same thing about me the other day to his colleagues. Maybe it IS true!
As for Spanish...I CAN speak Spanish....

chocolate! Really difficult! I bet your wife is doing a lot of translating for you. You haven't translated LOL. I bet you can't even say that in Spanish. I'm sure you could survive with those few words but there are so many beautiful words in Spanish.... Crazy is a nice word, I could have called you a lunatic but I didn't just in case your wife should read this.
