what's this mean?                                                                                                                                                                         in a row

To put things in a row means to lay them out, side by side, in a straight (horizontal) line.

To do something in a row means to do it one after the other ie "he rode the rollercoaster 4 times in a row" means 4 times one after the other - or 4 times in succession.
