Hello all,

Could somebody please help me? Firstly, the word "downfallen" , can it be used in the following verse:

...For buzz of bees and scent of pollen,
And can-docks over water's deep,
For silver threads of rain downfallen,
For all 't still dwell beneath the steep....

...if not, which word would suit?

And secondly, only one dictionary suggested the meaning "sky" for the word "steep". Can it really be used with this meaning or it is just some out-dated info?

Thank you in advance.

I think that "downfallen" is used more figuratively as from a high position, as a president who was forced to resign.  Suit?  You're locked in to something that  goes with "pollen".  Good luck.  "Steep", meaning "sky" is terribly old-fashioned, I'm sure.

Well, not exactly locked, everything can be changed. I just have to figure out which word to use for describing the rain Smile [:)]
