What words should we use to compare 2 dates?
Example: Compare the start and end date.
1. The start date must be less than end date.
2. The start date must be before end date.
3. The start date must be smaller than end date.
Please tell me which sentence is the right.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.

What words should we use to compare 2 dates?
Example: Compare the start and end date.
1. The start date must be less than the end date. Computer people say this sometimes.
2. The start date must be before the end date.
3. The start date must be smaller than the end date.No. But you could say 'earlier than'. Everybody understands that.
Please tell me which sentence is the right.

Best wishes, Clive
