Can you give me advice on my letter for work experience? Do I need a resume?

The Royal Children's Hospital,

I am writing to apply for a work experience placement at The Royal Children’s Hospital between the 22nd and the 26th of June 2009. I have visited your website regarding to the work experience program. I am particularly interested in the program of Allied Health & Administration Services and Laboratory Services.

I am currently a year 9 student attending Mount Saint Josephs Girls’ College.  The subjects I am studying this year are Mathematics, English, Humanities, Science, Japanese, Religion, Textiles, Music, Health and Physical Education and Media.

From the Allied Health & Administration Services Work Experience Program, I hope to get a better understanding of the different departments in the hospital. I would definitely want to follow a career in medicine. With this program, hopefully I would have a clearer idea of which field of medicine I would like to study.

The Laboratory Services Work Experience Program would give me a good idea of what it would be like to follow a career in Laboratory medicine. This program would certainly give me the experience of laboratory work which I could use to have a better understanding in biology.

Overall, any of the two programs would be suitable for me. Both of the programs would help me decide which subjects would be appropriate for me in VCE. It would also help me to decide upon a career I would like to follow.

Can you please reply as soon as possible, hopefully by the end of October. You can contact me by email or by calling **.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,

**
