Hello,

I need to change my answering machine message to record a more professional one as I will be looking for a new job pretty soon.
Could someone tell me if the following message is grammatically correct and sounds professional enough?

Hello, you are through to ***, I am not available at the moment but please leave me a message with your name and number and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you.

Thanks in advance for your comments/tips/...

Regards,
Ludovic

I would just change the beginning a little, Ludovic:

Hello, this is ***.   I am not available at the moment, but please leave me a message with your name and number, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.  Thank you.

'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master-- that's all.'

One change that I would prefer is "at this" instead of "at the".

My attempt:

Hi,

This is ..... Sorry, I am currently unavailable. Please leave your name, number, and message. I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank You.

Making a recorded message is a simple task that most people don’t give much thought to.  I used to leave my name on the recording but only learned that “bad” people can tie the name and phone numbers together and turn you into a potential crime victim. So changed my recording as follows:

“ Hello, I am not available to answer you call at this time. Please leave a detailed message and the time you called after the beep. I will return your call promptly. Thank you “

However, if you are waiting for a call potentially with employment potential, you may want to include you name.

Great! Just in case, make sure you say "get back to you" instead of "get you back".Smile [:)]  A friend of mine did that, in fact.

I did this mistake back in 2001-2002 when I was studying in England, and someone told me the error after almost 10 months... so now, I'm quite careful with this one Smile [:)]
