Hei!

I am currently job hunting and found a few interesting companies that I would like to apply to. I am not very confident with my CV though. Would you please be so kind to check it for me? I am very much open to constructive criticism and would greatly appreciate it.

Dear Sir/Madam:

From your company’s website, I found your company to be the one that I am looking for that will help me improve my professional as well as my personal skills. With my background in nutrition and dietetics, I am very interested to apply as a Junior Researcher or any health related position in your company.

Having been involved in two national dietary surveys, first as a household dietary researcher in the Philippines and as a designer and assistant in pilot testing of survey questionnaire in Norway gave me a practical experience in formulating survey questions, data gathering and analysis. Nothing brings me much pleasure than in finding answers for my research questions.

I also have enough exposure to clinical nutrition and in fact, it is one of my special interest, because I have worked as a dietitian for one and a half year. These work experience of mine has developed me to be a team player, accurate, patient, systematic and result-oriented worker.

Now that I’ve finished my Masters in Nutrition and Health specializing in Dietary Behavior and Disease Prevention, I am eager to consider new challenges. I would like to put into practice what I’ve learned and to gain more knowledge through research.

You will find my resume enclosed. I would be happy to answer any initial questions you may have, and to hear about your hiring process. Thank you for your attention to these materials. I certainly look forward to exploring this further.

Yours faithfully,

Kirsten

Hi,

Here is a quick and brief comment.

The term 'CV' is more or less equivalent to the term 'resume'. What you have posted is commonly called a 'cover letter', and is intended to be sent to a prospective employer along with your CV.

Do you want us to check your CV, or just this cover letter?

Best wishes, Clive

I am so sorry for the mistake in the subject line.Embarrassed [:$]

I am aware of the difference between cv and cover letter, thanks for differentiating it for me. I do intend to have my cover letter checked though if you don't mind. Smile [:)]

Hi Clive,

Thank you so much for editing my cv, i mean cover letter (just kidding! Stick out tongue [:P]). If I understand it correctly, those who are helping people in this website are volunteers right? The good deed that you are doing to others will surely come back to you.

Keep up the good work!

Many blessings,

Kirsten
