Hello, Henrietta! No, the Siamese are a different breed. Both are pointed (have the same range of colours), but the hair and the shape are different. The Birman has medium long, silky hair, whereas the Siamese is short-haired. The Birman is heavy-boned, with a round head & round eyes, and the Siamese is lithe with a triangular head and almond-shaped eyes. Only the Birman has those pure white mittens (see their legend).
