Shall I write my name and address at the top right side of my Motivation Letter..?

Hello!

My Motivation Letter for admission in a Master's programme is ready!

It starts with Dear Madam or Sir, because I don't know the name of the admission officer; and it ends with Yours Faithfully..my name

My question is shall I leave it like that, or shall I write my name and some other personal info on the top of the paper, the address of the University, or its useless, considering that I will send in also application form, CV and the rest of the documents needed where they can see my personal info.

Hi,

Write your address, followed by the date, in the top right corner.

Your name goes after 'Yours faithfully'. Print your name, and sign above that.

Many people today prefer to use 'Yours sincerely'.

In BrE, when you start your letter with Dear Sir or Dear Madam, or Dear Sir/Madam, you should end it with 'Yours faithfully'.

I can see that being true years ago. I wonder if it is still true today.

Perhaps someone who currently lives in Britain will enlighten us. Smile

Hi Clive

I've referred to the 7th edition, which is the latest edition, of the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary and it says the same thing.

When you start with Dear Sir or Madam, you end the letter with Yours faithfully.
