Hello

I'd like to ask about writing style.
One textbook says that the first paragraph starts the line without indentation.  The second paragraph makes white space at the beginning.  Is this true?  I saw some first paragraph have  white space at the beginning. Is there one rule how to start? How about the second and third paragraph?  How many letter should I omit as indentation?

I'll be happy to get some guidance.
Thank you.

As a general rule, the first line of each paragraph should be indented.

If you are using a typewriter, indent 5 letters from the left margin, then begin your sentence.
