I don't see the problem.
You have to be honest with your lover. That's the one you will spend your live with.
I can say everything what's on my mind to my lover and I can say it the way I want it.
He knows me and therefore he knows I would never intentionally hurt or offend him.
He, at the other hand, can say anything he wants to say to me in a way he wants it to say.
I also know that he never intentionally would hurt or offend me.
