thesis plan

Hello List,

I have to write down a thesis plan but have not experience of such kind of documents so I would appreciate some examples, guidance, templates.

I wanted to start with some achievements like

Several goals were accomplished since I star working on my thesis.

but I have difficulties how to continue with introducing a list, everything looks weak J

LCR meterâs terminals were connected with Copper (Cu) connector to get the Zero capacitance. That capacitance made from the interior parts of the LCR meter. Then all capacitor (dielectric) samples were labeled According those name. Then LCR meterâs frequency was selected (set) according our practical requirement, such as 50 Hz, 100Hz, 1000Hz, up to 5000000Hz.Then initial LCRâs frequency was set 50 Hz. then dielectric sample was installed in to the device. Then readings (capacitance and D value) were taken from the LCR meter display.

Same procedures were followed for each dielectric sample to get the reading (capacitance and D value). Then LCRâs frequency was set 100Hz. Then same procedures were followed for each dielectric sample to get the reading for all frequency.

please help me

how to improve above paragraph. and any correction ?

Context:

Mutations occurred predominantly (in >75% of the children) in MYH7 and MYBPC3; significantly more MYBPC3 missense mutations were detected than occur in adult-onset cardiomyopathy (P<0.005). Neither hypertrophic severity nor contractile function correlated with familial or genetic status.

I think (P<0.005) refers to "more MYBPC3 missense mutations were detected in childhood-onset cardiomyopathy," not refers to "the same mutations were detected in adult-onset cardiomyopathy."

Am I on the right track?

can anyone explain what this quote means.

what i don't understand is the use of the word "neither"? I believe neither to mean there are two something/options and both is out of the question. "not one or the other"

if this is what neither means "not one or the other" than is it "value of live and sickness" which neither has any existence.

any clarifications would be appreciated.

SABLE - Stash Acquisition Beyond Life Expectancy
on the wagon - a period of time where one avoids any new acquisition of stash
StRIP - Stash Reduction Implementation Plan, usually done when SABLE has been achieved. Typically, no new purchases are allowed for a set amount of time and/or until a certain amount of stash is used up. A person who does this is a StRIPper. See on the wagon.

Nowadays there are greater and greater desires for faster, more reliable, safer and automated unified system of marking and tracking various products, which demands precise choice of advanced information technology, but this exceeds the usage of now well known bar code. There are new solutions nowadays, which allow more accurate control and identification. One of those new technologies that already works well, but is still in the initial way and is going to be improved, is called radiofrequency identification or briefly RFID. Authors of research work developed a system for identification radiofrequency tags and implemented it in foot orienteering matches. System consists of microcontroller, RFID reader, GSM modem and stabilized power supply. If competitor with compatible RF tag is near, RFID reader checks his unique identification number and serves it through communications lines to microcontroller. Microcontroller then saves it to temporary memory and delivers it along accurate time of detection to GSM modem, which sends SMS with all included data to recipient. Such system allows automatic registration of competitors on arrival to individual orienteering check points, where identification and timing of competitors is logged. They have come to conclusion that logicality of usage RFID station for reading RF tags is partially conditional with GSM plug-in. They cannot tolerate mistakes and instability in electronic devices on competitions, so in this case, implementation of GSM modems in necessary.

I have 3 questions to ask. The materials below were translated by me and they should be perfectly "clean", as they are due to be included on a CD.

1. "Manufacturing, trading, assembling, putting into operation and providing technical assistance for equipment, assemblies, plant, technological lines, for internal and external beneficiaries"

I am quite annoyed about the repetition of the preposition "for". Any better suggestions?

2. "Conventional and non-conventional technologies for metal processing, surface preparation (including through painting), dismountable and non-dismountable assembling (welding-riveting)"

a). "surface preparation through painting" (i.e. to prepare a metal surface by painting it) â does it sound right? Or should I change it with "surface preparing through painting"?

b). " dismountable and non-dismountable assembling":

dismountable= smth which can be disassembled â is it the best term? And is "dismountable assembling" correct in the context (to assemble more pieces so that they can be eventually disassembled)?

3."stationary exhibition" (an exhibition which is not "moving" or "touring", but stays in one place)- -is it right?

I would appreciate if you could help me with any of these.

Honestly, I'm not a lefty, I used my right hand to write most of the time but recently, I started to change. I want to start writing by left hand and moreover, to be ambidextrous. However, I don't know how to start properly, can anybody help me in order to master writing with left hand? And if my handwriting of the right hand is somewhat unintelligible, can my handwriting with left hand be more intelligible/ beautiful ?

I am French and I need to send an email to a British recruiter to tell him that I will defend my PhD in Biology very soon, but it will be behind closed doors. Is it correct ? What I mean is : I wrote my thesis and now I have to discuss it with a jury, this is what I call "defence" and "behind closed doors" means that only the members of the jury will be here. Can you help me find a better way to put it ?
And how do you call an "essay" that you have to hand in following a training period, in which you explain what your job consisted in in the company aso... ? Is it a report ?

Can the noun "dependence" be countable?

I mean all dictionaries I have say it's uncountable. However, in scientific papers, it's common to discuss dependence of one parameter on another at different conditions. For example, over one catalyst, a reaction rate can decrease with temperature, whereas over another, it can increase with it.

Is it ok to say that there are two "dependences" of the reaction reate on temperature?

Actually, I've met the plural of this noun, but in papers of foreign authors... Is the plural possible in this case? Or what should I write?

I am an engineering student (and translator...) and I've come up against some difficulties while translating a text. Briefly, the company I am working for intends to include some information on a CD and... I was assigned to translate it.
