I think you're clicking on the wrong thing. On the "Home" page of the site, you'll see this list of words at the top left:
Active Unanswered Not Read My Forums Private Messages

Click on the 'My Forums' in that line to find your posts.

Thank you kindly, Pb, I found it! I'm straight on the "personal message" business. I didn't know what PM was when I clicked it. An email eventually showed up about the server move. Perhaps I need to be coached on using the MF button. There's a square box under it enclosing five categories, Faq, etc. When I click the button (small, character-sized square) the minus inside becomes a plus and the large box beneath disappears, allowing everything else in the column to move up. This condition can be toggled back and forth. I don't see anything anywhere that would lead me to this location (help/find my thread.) What am I missing? (I'm very new to internet conventions)

When did you post the other posts and how many were there?

The "my forums" button is at the top left underneath the Englishforums.com logo, next to Active, Unanswered, Not read ...

Okay, I'm learning! First time I tried I clicked the "PM" button instead of the "Reply" button. (just figured that out!) Now I know how to find this particular thread, and believe, as you say, any others are gone, especially since my "posts" count is (1). What I continue not to find is the bloody "My Forums" button. Thanks for your help.

Sophia, you can click on "my forums" to see all the ones that you have posted to. Unfortunately, yesterday some work was being done on the site and it seems that a few posts were lost. If you click on "my forums" button and your post from yesterday does not appear, I'm afraid it's gone, and you will have to repost. We regret that inconvenience.
