Are you frustated not being able to understand this book? Basically this sentence could be used to make someone feel bad about the fact that he/she did not or could not read a certain book. Maybe the other person is trying to make him/herself feel superior by putting the other person down.

What are the possible meanings of this statement?

I was looking for different views as to what the possible meanings of this statement could be.
