 Dear Teachers,
 1. Does "knock it off!" mean "shut up!"? It means "Stop it!"
 2. Grace: I like to help people.
Liza: Oh boy! you're so kind.
 - These are two girls, but why does Liza say "boy" here? "Oh boy!" is just a mild exclamation of delight.
 3. Have you ever ridden on a motorcycle?
 - I think "on" is redundant here, right? Yes, but it's a common usage.
 4. She's the lead singer in the band.
 - " lead singer" here means "only her can sing in the band"? Only SHE can sing (subject, not object) - but as Marius says, no, others can sing, but she's the singer in the front, the main singer.
 5. Don't be lonely tonight, we can make it alright.
