What is wrong with saying simply "regarding"? "in regards" is utterly wrong, never appearing in edited english- though people are forever saying "In regards to...' when they can otherwise speak quite well. so to re-cap correct:" "with regard to.../regarding wrong: (and driving me insane!); IN regards to..its actually 2 mistakes because the regard must be singular, no s on the end..unless you are sending someone something with "kind regards"

Re: "With regards to" versus "In regards to"

With regards to your query, what's wrong with a realistic looking toy cat?

Re: "With regards to" versus "In regards to"

To clarify this matter further. It's not enough to say "with regard to" is standard usage. The question is why? Answer: - When people say "with regards to" they are confused about whether "regard(s)" is a noun or a verb. In fact, in this case "regard" is a noun. - "with regard to" is like "with reference to". You wouldn't say "with references to". - "reference" and "regard" are both nouns, coming after a preposition, "with". - As the earlier reply said, "in regard to" is also correct. And "as regards" is fine too, "regards" being a verb in this case.

Re: "With regards to" versus "In regards to"

How few Americans know the difference. "In regards" is vulgar and incorrect.

Re: "With regards to" versus "In regards to"

However, how do we decide which one of them is more appropriate ??? or is it that no matter what the content of senetnce or hoiw it is constructed, both of them can be applied ?

Re: "With regards to" versus "In regards to"

Hi Lait can you please explain why with regards or in regards is wrong grammatically It's standard usage.

Re: "With regards to" versus "In regards to"

Big thanks for your help, Yoong Liat!
