None of them are really incorrect. It is just #2, to say &amp;quot;-to participate in&amp;quot; just makes it repetitive. And in #1, saying &amp;quot;and they are&amp;quot; just don&amp;#39;t flow as smoothly because it feels like you need a comma there. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Oh, and you might want to be careful on what you really want to say. In sentence #1, you are listing &lt;em&gt;all &lt;/em&gt;the available courses.
